Could You Benefit from a Motorised Satellite System?

Posted on December 19, 2010 at 11:15 am

If you are eager to access a broader range of TV channels, you might want to consider investing in motorised satellite systems.

This could be your answer to receiving a wide variety of stations from Europe and the Middle East, in a number of languages.

By having such TV aerial installation, you will be able to achieve the level of diversity you are seeking.

When you wish to change your television channel and use a different signal, motorised satellite systems enable you to change the position of your dish.

The device will be automatically re-pointed to receive the correct signal.

This will provide you with a level of flexibility you may previously have only dreamt of.

Here at Satellites & Aerials, we specialise in a number of things, including Sky dish installation and motorised satellite systems.

So, if you are interested in opening up this bigger, more varied world of TV viewing, simply browse our website or get in touch.

Because there are such a lot of channels available when you use this technology, we tailor the installation of your receiver so that it reflects your viewing preferences.

If you wish to see encrypted or premium subscription only channels, you will need to have a satellite receiver with CAM access.

However, many of the channels you will be able to receive require no additional subscription, which may be welcome news.

So, if you wish to access more channels without the hassle of having to manually re-point your dish each time, see how we can help.

Digital TV Aerials in Remote Areas

Posted on November 20, 2010 at 3:55 pm

If you are lucky enough to live in a wild and remote area far from the rat race of city life, you probably value your peace and quiet. Living out in the countryside is wonderful in the summer, and there’s nothing like enjoying a warm evening in your garden or soaking up the local scenery. Unfortunately, there is a downside – winter is coming fast and every indication is that it’s going to be an unusually long and cold one.

Long, cold winter evenings can really get you down if you live a long way out of town. There isn’t much to do and for many people, the old analogue television signal didn’t help much. It provided a limited number of mainstream channels and the quality was often not too great anyway. The people most in need of entertainment in their own homes – those far from cinemas, theatres, and other opportunities – weren’t the ones getting it. Digital TV aerials and other technologies are changing all that and bringing very high quality programming into almost any home in the UK.

Whether it is a top of the range Sky dish installation you’re after or simple Freesat receivers, we can help you understand what the options are in your area. There are possibilities for everyone and systems to suit a wide range of different needs. As specialists in all kinds of digital tv aerials, satellites, and set top boxes we can bring the best television into your home no matter where you live.

Do I Need a Motorised Satellite System?

The chances are very high that you don’t really need one in the strictest sense of the word, but there are plenty of reasons you might want one. If you’d like to be able to pick up television signals from distant sources and still get good definition and clarity, motorised satellite systems are definitely the way forward for your home.

Normal digital tv aerials and satellite receivers are fixed in one place. In order for a dish to capture and process a signal as well as the equipment permits, it has to arrive from the right direction, just like you can catch a ball most easily if it falls right into the palm of your hand. Normal Sky and Freesat receivers are pretty clever pieces of electronics and the signals they catch are quite strong so being fixed in place isn’t a problem, but in order to pick up more difficult signals it helps to be able to swivel the dish to the perfect angle.

Motorised satellite systems have an integrated movement system that shifts the orientation of the dish to catch the strongest possible signal for a given channel. Once they are properly installed everything is automated, so all you have to do is specify which channel you want and the motor will move the satellite receiver into the best possible position.

Obviously installation of motorised satellite systems is a little more complex than a normal Sky installation, so it’s worth choosing an expert. If you’d like to receive television from Europe or even as far away as the Middle East, we can help.

Thinking about Sky Dish Installation?

If you are considering upgrading your television service there are a lot of options and it can be difficult to weigh one against another. There’s a lot of jargon around and every TV aerial installation company seems to be selling something different- Freeview, Freeview+, Freesat, digital tv, Sky, Sky HD etc. To help you sort out all these terms and concepts, we’ve created a handy Jargon Buster page that will make sense of the different options.

At this point it’s also worth checking your postcode against the lists of places that can and can’t receive digital television signals. More and more are being added to the ‘can’ section every day but coverage is still not completely even across the whole country. If you’d prefer an easier solution, you can give us a call and we’ll tell you what is available in your area, when you can expect the digital switchover to happen, and anything else you need to know.

Before you decide on Sky dish installation or a Freeview aerial (or any other option – we’ve got dozens of choices available for most homes all around the UK), having a chat with one of our TV aerial installation technicians is a good idea anyway. They can help you find the best package and the best equipment to suit your needs as well as sorting out a convenient time to install it for you. We’re happy to provide free quotes and even make a free home visit to really get to grips with your needs and wants when it comes to digital and satellite television.
